The world needs America to come to its senses

“The Americans can always be trusted to do the right thing, but only once all other possibilities have been exhausted.”

Even by the notoriously fractious standards of Capitol Hill, the high-stakes game of brinkmanship playing out over the debt crisis has looked like a political system gone mad.”
