Japan gave tacit OK for U.S. to use bases
The Japanese government released documents which showed that Japan had agreed to allow the U.S. military to use their bases on Okinawa to launch airstrikes against Vietnam during the war. The documents showed that Japan did everything it could to obfuscate the wording which authorized the airstrikes.
