But what will happen in the fourth quarter?

Earlier in the day, the Japanese government reported that the Japanese economy grew 3.9% on an annualized basis in the third quarter. Nevertheless, some economists worried the economy might contract in the fourth quarter as the previous stimulus bill wound down. That’s why the DPJ wanted to pass the stimulus bill as soon as possible, hopefully, by the end of the month. They would not meet that deadline, much to my chagrin.
